Conducted management work sessions to arrive at a comprehensive SDLC framework consisting of adaptable seven-step waterfall and RAD models for Enterprise-wide IT delivery managers, architecture, project manager, business analyst and PMO team members. Work product included: deliverable templates and samples, job aids, checklists and presentation materials for Executive Summary, Quick Reference Guide, Comprehensive Training.

The Hartford engaged Odyssey over a four year period to perform the following:
In the Property & Casualty Financial Reporting & Analysis area, architected and guided business and technology enhancement goals to position the controller’s function to effectively transition to a redesigned global consolidations procedure and infrastructure.
Evaluated monthly financial close process and delivered recommendations outlined under the following categories: Architecture; General Ledger Application Functionality; Organization of Work. Minimized use of myriad Excel spreadsheets where automation could replace and streamlined the financial and report consolidation processes.
In Enterprise Finance, under the direction of the CFO, proposed a multi-year effort to transform / standardize, the financial business processes and supporting application systems Enterprise-wide. Foundational framework included Data Rationalization Strategy and single global instance Chart of Accounts initiatives.
In Risk Management arena, the client required an Enterprise risk-based capital and capital allocation/attribution automated solution. Initiated by the CFO, the client allowed us to act as Project Manager in the GAAP, statutory and capital financial accounting, management and reporting aspects of this major initiative.
In Reinsurance Accounting & Reporting, we coordinated the design of Access scorecard solution to establish work effort prioritization based on key business drivers resulting in database and reporting deliverables.

AXA Reinsurance, an international (re)insurance and investment firm, was the focus of Odyssey’s Project Lead and financials functional expertise for PeopleSoft v7.5.2 General Ledger and Accounts Payable implementations. Onsite work was conducted in Paris headquarters and New York with other subsidiaries implemented in Montreal, UK and Singapore.

SAFECO, the leading insurance provider, used a large GL implementation team in a multi-business unit environment and used Odyssey to provide functional product knowledge and training consulting services. We directed resources to develop GL curriculum, user manuals, instructor’s guides and job aides for rollout of PS/GL to over 500 users.

Bank for International Settlements, an international financial services institution based in Basel, Switzerland, required assistance from Odyssey with overall application software package selection. Further, Odyssey presented PeopleSoft GL and AP training to a diverse, multi-lingual class.

Senco Products, Inc. is a mid-size manufacturing company located in Cincinnati, OH, for which Odyssey played the role of Project Manager for a PeopleSoft v8.4 (PT 8.41.10) upgrade of 9 modules for 250 users: Financials (AM, AP, AR, DM, GL) and Supply Chain (BI, INV, OM, PO). For Harris Corporation, large manufacturer in Melbourne, FL, provided foreign currency expertise for financials and supply chain modules as follows: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Asset Management, Purchasing. Evaluated design and configuration of all PeopleSoft modules. Delivered recommendations to management and staff, resolving all currency issues.
For Harte-Hanks, global direct marketing and advertising firm, directed effort to position European entities for multicurrency processing using multibook structure and for financial reporting in local currencies.
For ATC Leasing, provided functional expertise in financials and supply chain, completed configuration of tables, prototyped system, presented to users. Acted as liaison among project management, CFO, Controller and IT staffs.
